The challenge!! To organize a meeting of 12.000 participants, in the island of Rhodes.
The solution!! Erasmus organized an excellent meeting accommodating the needs of every single participant. Despite the distance of the Erasmus office from the venue location (from Athens to the island of Rhodes) every detail was prepared in advance in the most efficient manner. The event involved 12.000 participants, 453 Speakers, 135 Exhibitor booths, 2.000 Oral and Poster presentations and a bus shuttle service covering daily 10 routes for 50 hotels. Through scheduled flights plus 25 flights chartered by Erasmus all delegates arrived in Rhodes safely and comfortably. Local airport transfers were efficiently organized for over 10.000 participants.
The social events - quite demanding due to the number of participants - were excellently planned and executed and included: an opening ceremony in the ancient Stadium of Diagoras, a welcome reception in the courtyard of the Stadium, a 1.300 - pax gala dinner in the historical Administration Building site and a full day excursion to the nearby island of Kos by catamaran, where guests participated in the ancient Hippocratic Oath Ceremony, in the archaeological site of the Sanctuary of Asclepius.
